New Delhi: The All India Muslim Majlis-e-Mushawarat (AIMMM) has congratulated the BSP and its leader Maywati for their resounding victory in UP Assembly elections.
This victory in UP has made Maywati a “national leader� according the Syed Shahabuddin, the president of the AIMMM. This victory “gives a new turn to State politics by brining it out of the quagmire of successive coalitions for the last 15 years� said Mr. Shahabuddin, which resulted in “economic depression and misgovernment.�
AIMMM is happy to note that secular forces have triumphed in UP and that Muslims played an important part in BSP’s victory. AIMMM also pointed out that BSP fielded the largest number of Muslim candidates and has also returned largest number of Muslim MLAs.
Mushawarat hoped “that her Government will pay due attention to the legitimate grievances and aspirations of the Muslim community of U.P., in which nearly one fourth of all Muslim Indians live, and give it a sense of participation and empowerment.�
The All India Muslim Majlis-e-Mushawarat is an apex forum of Muslim organizations and institutions of national eminence and well-known personalities
Syed Shahabuddin who recently quit congress urged Maywati to “fulfil the aspirations of its people for law and order, economic development, communal harmony & social justice.�
