Baghdad : A suicide car bomb struck a police convoy in Iraq’s northern oil city of Kirkuk Thursday, killing six people and wounding 22, the police said.
A suicide bomber rammed his explosives laden car into the convoy of Brigadier Khattab Omer while he was heading to his work, police chief Brigadier Burhan Wasif told Xinhua by telephone.
Omer was critically wounded and two of his bodyguards were killed by the blast, Wasif said.
The dead also included four civilians. A total of 21 people, including women and children, were wounded.
