By News Agency of Kashmir

Jammu: A woman army officer, who came out successful in a complaint of sexual exploitation filed by her against one of his superior officer, has received compliments for her struggle from an unexpected quarter; one of the dreaded militant outfit Lashkar-e-Toiba.

In a telephonic statement to News Agency of Kashmir, here today, Dr Abdullah Gaznavi, claiming himself to be spokesman of the outfit, welcomed the recent decision of Army Court of Inquiry holding Major General AK Lal guilty of sexual exploitation.

An Army court of inquiry recently found Major General A K Lal, who was commanding a division on Sino-Indian border in Ladakh, guilty of the charges leveled by Army Captain Neha Rawat in a case filed in September this year.

“We compliment Captain Rawat for her struggle and congratulate her as she has succeed to take the guilty to task”, he said.

He adds, “What about the fate of hundreds of those army officials who have been outraging the modesty of innocent Kashmiri women and girls from last fifty years”.

“We feel that court martial is not enough for the army officers like Major General Lal, he said adding, “We demand that all those officers involved in the sexual exploitation, rape cases and human right violations shall be stop stoned (Sangsar)”.

It is pertinent to mention here that Lal, who had been attached to Srinagar-based 15 corps after the complaint by Rawat, was tried by a court of inquiry.

The accused officer has been reverted back to Leh-based 14 Corps to face Court Martial proceedings and summary of evidence in the case.

Capt Rawat of Corps of Signals and based in Leh, had filed a complaint alleging misconduct by Major General Lal during a meditation session.

Reacting to the development, the LET spokesman added that the case should be an eye opener for the whole world. “It is enough to show as how much Indian army has degraded morally”, he alleges.

Dr Gaznavi further asked all the political parties to shun their individual interests and raise voice against the alleged human right violations in Kashmir.
