Punjab reconstitutes committee on minority affairs

Chandigarh: The Punjab government has reconstituted the state advisory committee on minority affairs under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal.

The official members of the committee include the finance minister, the minister of state for welfare of SCs and BCs, the chief secretary, the principal secretary (finance) and the principal secretary to the CM. The additional principal secretary to the CM will be the member-secretary of the panel.

The non-official members to this committee were nominated last month. The non-official members from the Muslim community are Abdul Gaffar, former minister, Dilbag Hussain from Jalandhar and Hazi Farzaldin from Moga. From the Christian community the members are Munawar Masih, Gurdaspur, Manga Masih, Gurdaspur, and Hamid Masih, president, Punjab Christian movement. From the Jain community, Vishwa Jain from Ludhiana has been nominated.
