Berlin : More than 41 million people, older than 14 years, have used the Internet during the third quarter of 2007, said a study released Thursday by the Frankfurt-based AGOF online research group.
Some 41,3 million Germans went online at least once during the third quarter of last year.
People between 14 and 29 years are the most active Internet users in Germany as 92.9 percent of them go online.
Some 87.4 percent of Germans use the Internet primarily to read e-mails, while 86.3 percent go online to research for information, especially about flight and railway tickets, trips, hotels, books and tickets for various sports and cultural events.
Eight out of 10 Germans purchase also products via the Internet.
Some 62.9 percent of German Internet users read news sites.
Germany has a total population of around 82.5 million people.
