Islamabad : Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Senator Nisar A. Memon has said the people of Pakistan are against terrorism and they are standing together with the government and security forces to fight this menace.
He expressed these views in a meeting with Waseem Mahmood, Chairman Yeh Hum Naheen (YHN) Foundation. YHN Foundation is a UK based NGO, comprising a group of non-political, non partisan expatriates working for promotion of the real image of Pakistan in the UK and across the world.
Welcoming the guest, the Minister said the ulema, scholars and intellectuals have come out to fight the terrorism and they are urging the people to fight out this menace which is badly distorting the real image of Islam.
“Due to this healthy development, the people and security forces bravely foiled the design of the terrorist in Peshawar on Thursday. They laid down their lives but saved many other lives,” he said.
Waseem Mahmood briefed the Minister on his efforts to promote the real image of the country. He said he and his colleagues had developed an inspirational song ‘Yeh Hum Naheen’ which has been sung by all leading vocalists of the country.
He apprised the Minister on his plan to soon launch a signature campaign against terrorism in the country and then it will be presented to the caretaker government as well as to the people of world.
The minister thanked him for his voluntary gesture and his contribution to Pakistan while living in UK. He congratulated Waseem Mahmood on earning his coveted Order of the British Empire (OBE) which a few Pakistani origin UK citizens have earned.
