Kingdom urges Hajj-visa holders not to stay

Jeddah : The General Directorate of Passports has urged those who have come to Saudi Arabia for performing Hajj to leave the Kingdom and go back to their home-countries.

A statement issued by the General Directorate of Passports said the Kingdom’s regulations do not allow those who have come to the country with Hajj visa to stay.

The statement made it clear that extending assistance to those who are staying back either by lodging, employing or transportation constitutes a flagrant violation, and the violators will be liable for punishment which includes imprisonment and SR 10,000 in penalty.

The penalty will be charged according to the number of persons who are illegally staying back and receiving assistance.

The residents who extends facilities to those who are staying back will be deported in addition to specified penalty.

The statement urged everyone to adhere to the regulations and cooperate for the service of the public interest.
