Ambassador Ahmad Bin Hilli, the general-secretary’s assistant for political afairs and member of the travelling delegation, said in a press statement Tuesday that Moussa’s visit to Kuwait was part of continuous consultations between the two sides, as well as with Arab leaders on Lebanon, Iraq and the Palestinian cause.

Moussa is keen on getting acquainted closely with views of the Arab leaders on these issues in line with the policy of bolstering joint Arab action, he said, affirming that the chief of the organisation would hold talks with the Emir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah on preparations for the Arab economic summit, due to be hosted by Kuwait later this year.

The top-level meeting due to be held in Kuwait will be one of the most significant Arab summits, he added.

On eve of the visit, Moussa affirmed that his visit would be of paramount importance, adding that it would coincide with Kuwaiti celebrations of the second- year rule of the Emir.
The visit also precedes the Arab summit that would be held in Damascus on March 29 and 30.
