“We have roped in the Grand Thorton and Co. for guidance to set up ITIs involving private players in various blocks of the state,” the state’s Technical Education Additional Director Rahul Dev told IANS.

For promoting technical education and job avenues, the state government has undertaken the ambitious project of setting up 250 ITIs covering every block of Uttar Pradesh. At present, there were 200 ITIs operating in the state, the officials added.

“There are a number of PPP models. The government can either provide land free-of-cost to private players or enter into a financial partnership with private companies. The British consultant will go through all such PPP options and later suggest the best model to us for setting up the ITIs,” added Dev.
