Chhattisgarh surveys waqf properties

Bilaspur: Waqf properties of Chhattisgarh state is worth billions of rupees but about half of them are under illegal occupation. According to Chhattisgarh State Wakf Board CEO Dr. SA Farooqui, there are about 1,811 properties that belong to waqf but about 842 of them are under illegal occupation.

For the first time since the formation of the state of Chhattisgarh, a survey is conducted by the government to locate all waqf properties. All district level officials have been asked to find information about waqf properties in their area.

Soon the Wakf Board will meet to discuss the survey report.
