Govt. grants fund for scholarships to minority students in West Bengal

New Delhi: The Congress-led UPA government at the Center has released more than Rs. five crore as grant in aid for the centrally sponsored scheme of merit-cum-means based scholarship to students belonging to minority communities in West Bengal for the year 2007-08.

The Union government released Rs. 5,03,65,129, that is 100% Central share to the West Bengal government. On the scholarship Rs. 4,97,65129 would be spent while Rs. 6,00,000 would be spent on setting up an IT-enabled cell for the implementation of the scheme for the 2007-08. The scholarship will be granted to 1897 students. For the scholarship, 1892 students have been selected based on merit-cum-means criteria.

Hello Sir,

This is Prince Singh from kharagpur, D- midnipur west, cast Sikh (Punjabi) west Bengal, Sir i want to know about the some certain things regarding the minorities.

1) whether Sikh is come under minorities? If Yes , then from where we get the details and all?

2) is there any form which i fill up and submit to take the benefits of minorities? If yes from where i get the form and all

3) And lastly what are the charges and all, if i talk the form of minorities and from where i get the form.

So, please advice me all the details of minorities it is very helpful for me and my family also.
