Four of six Indians in US car crash were from Jabalpur

New York : Of the six Indians killed in a car accident on way to the Niagara Falls, two couples were from Jabalpur. Formalities are being completed for sending their bodies to India.
Of the other two dead, one man was from Indore and the other from Kolkata.
The six Indians died on the spot Saturday when the minivan they were travelling in spun out of control and crashed into an oncoming car in Pennsylvania, on the border with Ohio. They were on the way to a vacation at Niagara Falls.
The victims were from Detroit area in Michigan. They have been identified as Kaushik Deb, 26, who drove the car, Manoj Jharia, 35, and his wife Mili Jharia, 28; Nitin Agarwal, 29, and his wife Swati Agarwal, 25; and Shubham Choudory, 24.
The four men were working as software programmers for the IT firm Syntel Inc, in Troy, Michigan, for durations ranging from three months to four years, company spokesperson Jonathan James told IANS.
The Jharias and Agarwals were from Jabalpur, Choudory from Indore and Deb from Kolkata. James did not have details about one survivor of the crash, Nitin Gupta, 28, who escaped with injuries.
While the reason for the crash is not known and toxicology tests for the minivan's driver, Deb, have been ordered, the bodies of the six victims are at the coroner's office in Erie county.
"I cannot give the timeline at this stage on when the bodies will be sent to their families in India," James said.
He confirmed that following calls after the accident offering help, Syntel is setting up a memorial fund for the families of the victims.
