Lucknow: In otherwise good news for the Muslim community whose sordid educational status was exposed by the Sachar Committee, Tauheed Ahmad of Lucknow has topped the U.P. Combined Pre-Medical Test (CPMT) held for admission at medical and engineering colleges in the state.
The results of CPMT, a mandatory admission test for medical, engineering and management courses at those colleges, were announced yesterday. With 185 out of 200 marks, Ahmad became topper at the test for which 77,000 students had appeared. The state government had assigned the task of conducting the test to Lucknow University.
According to the results, of all candidates, 50,000 could manage to get just 35% marks Of the first 100 seats, boys captured 75. The test was held on 14th May.
