Urdu Media Cell opened at Delhi State Congress office

New Delhi: In a bid to reach Urdu readers, and through them the big chunk of Muslim masses, Delhi State Congress has opened Urdu Media Cell at its office. Now communication from the party will directly go to Urdu newspapers and magazines.

Addressing a gathering on the occasion on 28th May at Rajiv Bhawan, state Congress president JP Aggarwal said the cell is aimed at reaching Urdu media and readers directly. He said he was aware of the problems being faced by Urdu media and would make all efforts to allocate Urdu media its due share in government advertisements.

Delhi Wakf Board chairman Chaudhary Mateen Ahmad appreciated the step and emphasized the need to set up a mechanism through which Urdu media coverage could reach the government. He asked the government to link the language with job. He also demanded the recruitment of Urdu teachers in schools.
