Jammu : Jammu and Kashmir police picked up a father son duo for questioning in connection with the investigation of Malegaon blasts case, here on Wednesday.
Well informed sources told News Agency of Kashmir that the Jammu police raided a residential house in Trikuta Nagar locality and arrested the duo. The arrests were reportedly made on the requests of Anti-Terror Squad (ATS) of Kanpur police.
Identified as VK Kapoor and his son Pawan Kapoor the father son duo were said to be closely associated with Dayanand Pande alias Ambikananada Saraswati, one of the prime accused in Malegaon blasts.
Police, sources said, was ascertaining the activities of Saraswati in Jammu and Kashmir and his association with other people in the state.
It was further learnt that the father-son duo was running Vaidik Vishava Kalyan Trust in Jammu which was associated with Sharda Sarvagya Peeth Math owned and being run by Dayanad Pande.
A little known self-styled spiritual guru, Dayanand Pande alias Ambikananada Saraswati, was arrested by the UP police in connection with the Malegaon bomb blasts.
Dayanand Pande was picked up from the Rawatpur locality in Kanpur. UP police was already suspecting Pande’s association is reportedly associated with the blast accused Pragya Singh and others.
