Fire breaks out in West Bengal power sub-station

By IANS,

Kolkata : A fire broke out at an electric supply sub-station Tuesday morning in West Bengal’s Murshidabad district, officials said.

“The fire broke out at the powerhouse around 10 a.m. Tuesday morning. We are yet to investigate the cause of the fire. But apparently it seems to be the result of a short circuit,” fire brigade officials told reporters.

Four fire engines were rushed to the spot which brought the fire under control after almost two hours. No one has been reported injured in the incident, they added.

The incident took place at Chuapore Power House – an electric supply sub-station – in Murshidabad’s Behrampore town.

According to authorities, the entire district is expected to suffer from power disruptions for the next few days due to the accident.
