New Delhi: While people from Azamgarh living in the Jamia Nagar area were worried about singling out of Azmis (those hail from the district in eastern Uttar Pradesh) in Delhi bombing investigation, Azamgarh MP Akbar Ahmed Dumpy visited the area to instill a sense of confidence among his constituents.

Addressing a small gathering in Zakir Nagar, he said he is not satisfied with the police version of the encounter and he will raise the issue in the Parliament.

He also offered his condolences to the family of Delhi police Inspector Prem Chand Sharma who was killed in the encounter in Batla House in Jamia Nagar area on September 19. Two youths from Azamgarh district were killed in the encounter. The police later described them as suspected terrorists who were mastermind of the Delhi serial bombings.

Connecting the ongoing attack on Azamgarh with politics, he said in the last election BJP candidates vowed that “we have to begin from Azamgarh and will make Uttar Pradesh another Gujarat.”

He said he has full faith in the judicial system of the country and he is hopeful that truth will come out.

He also visited the building L-18 where the encounter took place on last Friday. Before coming to Jamia Nagar, he said, he visited the family of the slain police inspector to offer his condolences.

He also lambasted the media for not giving full and true picture of the story.
