Singh said the BJP, if voted to power, will give a top priority to curb the growing terrorism.

“If we come to the power in the centre, curbing terrorism would be one of our top priorities,” Singh said at an election rally in Bahraich district, some 270-km from Lucknow.

Expressing concern on rising Talibanisation of Pakistan, he said: “As the growing influence of Taliban over the neighbouring country is a matter of concern for India, we should prepare ourselves to counter the threat in a befitting manner.”

Accusing the Congress-led United Progressive Alliance (UPA) of being soft on terrorism, he said the central government’s inordinate delay in carrying out the death sentence awarded to parliament terror attack convict Afzal Guru showed the real face of the party.
