Indian-American Rashad Hussain inducted in Obama’s legal team

New Delhi: Rashad Hussain, son of Drs Rokaiyya and Akbar Hussain, has been inducted by US President Barack Obama in his legal team, the White House Counsel.

Indian-American Rashad Hussain will serve as Deputy Associate Counsel to the US President. Rashad Hussain has recently served as a Trial Attorney at the US Department of Justice. He was also a Law Clerk to Damon J Keith on the US Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit.

Hussain has also rendered his service as a legislative assistant on the House Judiciary Committee. As a legislative assistant, he reviewed legislations such as the USA Patriot Act.

Rashad Hussain received his bachelor’s degree from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. After that, he earned his Master’s degree in Public Administration and in Arabic and Islamic Studies from Harvard University. The appointment was made on January 28.

Rashad’s mother is a physician settled in Dallas and is an Alig.
