'Love Jihad': Defend attempts for communalisation, urge cultural leaders
By TwoCircles.net Staff Correspondent,
Kochi: The general public should be aware of the attempts to spread communalism in the Kerala society in the name of the imaginary organisation called ‘Love Jihad’, said the joint statement of cultural leaders. The statement was signed by several social and cultural leaders like Js VR Krishna Iyer.
The statement said that the Kerala society should be ready to defend the fascist moves to create mistrust and fear among communities by giving a communal colour to the love affairs in campuses. There is a move to make the romances and love marriages that take place without any religious or caste consideration as tools for communalism. This is a challenge against the secular culture of Kerala.
Such controversies are empowered by the fascist mentality which questions the individuals’ right to choose. What is projected in this propaganda is the feudal male chauvinistic rationality that women are uncreative beings who can’t decide their own lives. The attitude of the media and the communal organisations that uphold the propaganda about the ‘Love Jihad’, which is not supported by facts, should be changed. The statement demanded that cultural Kerala should dare to defend, realising the politics behind the ‘Love Jihad’ controversy.
Dr KN Panikker, Dr NA Kareem, O Abdurahman, Swami Vishwabhadrananda Shakthibodhini, KP Ramanunni, TD Ramakrishnan, K Ajitha, Dr J Devika, CS Chandrika, CR Neelakandan, PT Kunhumuhammed, R Unni, GP Ramachandran, J Raghu, KC Varghese, P Mujeeb Rahman, KK Kochu, KM Salim Kumar, K Baburaj, MB Manoj, MR Renukumar, Thaha Madayi, Praveen Kodoth, KP Sethunath, Dr Ajayashekhar, Shamsad Hussain, Geetha, VC Jenny, George Jacob, Vilayodi Venugopal, Odanavattom Vijayaprakash and PM Salih signed the statement.

PUT AN END TO THIS DANGEROUS TREND
The reaction from the cultural leaders even though little late,is very appropriate. Those who are trying to pollute the peaceful communal atmosphere should be identified, isolated and brought before the general public. The media which are making this non-issue to such an undesirable level and painting with such a bad colour and adding such a bad smell should also be identified. There is ample scope for taking up this as a subject for research by academic circles to bring out how a non-issue having neither basis nor logic can be worsened by communal elements. This trend is very dangerous and should be put an end to jointly by all right thinking people.

Love Peace but not Jihad
One can appraise with ease that "Love Jihad" is not compatible with reality but Quixotic in nature. Its defiant intentional mockery and travesty of democracy is highly deplorable. Miscreants are at spree to disturb the tranquility of area concerned.
It's welcome that elites of the society have shown solidarity against such unscrupulous characters.
Love jihad
thanks,this is the best step.
