Chidambaram, Swami Ramdev should apologise: Vinay Katiyar

Lucknow : Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) general secretary Vinay Katiyar Saturday asked union Home Minister P. Chidambaram and renowned yoga guru Swami Ramdev to "apologise to the country for hurting the sentiments" of people.
He asked them to apologise for participating at a convention of Muslim clerics who recirculated an old fatwa against singing "Vande mataram". The Muslim objection to parts of the national song is almost a century old.
"In my view the participation of Chidambaram and Ramdev at the Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind convention cannot be justified under any circumstance. It's anti-national and they should apologise to the country for their anti-national act," Katiyar told reporters.
"By attending the Jaimiat Ulema-e-Hind's convention, where the fatwa was issued against our national song, both Chidambaram and Swami Ramdev have made a mockery of the Indian Constitution," he said.
The BJP leader was speaking in Ambedkar Nagar district, about 200 km from Lucknow.
Katiyar said if Chidambaram fails to apologise, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh should intervene and take action against the minister.
"Manmohan Singh should intervene at least for the sake of country's constitution," he added.

You have your freedom - Sallauddin, to not to sing VANDE MATHARAM. It is guaranteed by the Indian Constitution- it is altogether different matter that NON- MUSLIM MINORITIES are not extended such FREEDOM in countries which have MUSLIM MAJORITIES like Pakistan, Bangladesh, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia and such gulf countries. But MUSLIMS CLERGY collectively issuing a FATWA against singing of VANDE MATHARAM amounts to "intimidation" of any MUSLIM who wants to sing VANTE MATHARAM on his own free will and violates the very Indian Constitution which grants you the freedom NOT to sing Vande Matharam.
Similarly, the HINDUS can also object to MUSLIMS using loud speakers for AZAN - to shout five times a day, every day, that ALLAH IS THE ONLY GOD- because it violates the HINDU belief in many GODS and GODDESS. You can believe in what you may please but you can NOT "shout at us" with your belief.

As I belong from Assam / N.E. , we demand referendum all over india upon two main points. 1 - Religious, how many % of religious wise population lives in India. 2 - Does every communities wants to live in the Indian union.

We certainly can say the Adhan. What we can not do is to force you to say the Adhan. Similarly you are welcome to worship your idols. That is between you and God. You can't force us to worship those.
