Asif Mohammad Khan wrest Okhla seat from Congress

New Delhi, Asif Mohammad Khan won Okhla seat defeating Bahujan Samaj Party candidate Bramha Singh by more than 5000 votes. Asif Mohammad Khan also gave Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) its first win in Delhi.

Congress candidate Farhad Suri came third in the Muslim-dominated constituency, getting 17,804 votes while RJD and BSP polled 23,394 and 18,387 votes respectively.

The elections were necessitated when Okhla legislator Parvez Hashmi was elected to the Rajya Sabha. Khan gave a nailbiting finish to the last poll held in December 2008 with the sitting Congress MLA Parwez Hashmi just managed to win the seat by 500 votes – the seat he won three times in a row with margins of several thousands of votes.

Now since u hv won the nailbiting and thrilling assembly election and wrested the seat from Congress , u might be slightly inebriated..... this was a victory which could give u a national stature !!!.

But now is the time to show ur maturity and a professional approach to resolve problems and handle basic issues ..... issues which would make the life of residents of this area more meaningful , more pleasureable , more dignified and more hygienic. We want you to get Sewer lines of Okhla De silted and cleaned properly, so that we can walk on roads free from the worry of getting NAAPAAK.

U donot know me personally, but I have high hopes from u.If u deliver u will be remembered as a statesman and a noble person. But if u fail to see the larger picture and do only petty politics, people of ur constituency will be extremely disappointed.
