PATNA : Dr Imtiaz Ahmad, director, Khuda Bakhsh Oriental Public Library, has been
nominated by the Union ministry for culture, as a member of the Society and Executive
Council of the Maulana Abul Kalam Azad Institute of Asian Studies, Kolkata, for five years.
The institute is an autonomous research institute under the Union ministry for Culture. It is mainly devoted to area studies with special focus on South Asia, Central Asia and West Asia. Its area of research covers social, cultural, economic, political and administrative aspects of Asia from 19th century to the present.
