They’re terrorist, say co-passenger, and Muslim couple deplaned

Mumbai: A Muslim couple today was offloaded from an Emirates flight from Mumbai to Dubai after a co-passenger Suresh Chavan told the airline that a passenger called Shahbaz Khan was an “al-Qaeda terrorist.” Khan and his wife were immediately detained.
Emirates Airlines flight EK 505 with 356 passengers was rolling on the runway at 0959 hours when Chavan called the cargo supervisor of the flight claiming that he overheard someone saying Shahbaz was a terrorist, say media reports.
The plane was pushed back to the runway and the air traffic control informed the airport that there was a security hazard on board. All passengers were asked to leave the plane and their baggage and the aircraft was checked again. Nothing objectionable was found in the plane or with the passengers including the couple. Yet, the couple was detained for further questioning while the accuser was allowed to go. Surprisingly, the authorities did not think it necessary to hold the accuser also to help them in investigation. The plane left with all passengers except the couple at 1404 hours for Dubai.
Media reports say that while Khan has been detained by the local police his wife has been sent home as she is heart patient.

If Mr.Suresh Chavan's identity is investigated,he will be found either a racist Brahmin or a RSS terrorist.Here the RSS/Brahmin factor has worked out well.I think it will continue at large scale unless the menace of RSS/Brahmin factor is addressed effectively.Need of the hour is a campaign against all kinds of racism(Israeli,Brahmanical and European white)and a mass petition has to be sent to organizations like UNO,EU,OIC,GCC and all other reputed human rights groups.

Hes paying a price for his name.. how unprofessional was that to let the accuser go like that.. I bet hes still being detained and treated realy bad.. I realy feel for the couple who must be regretting setting foot in that country.

This report shows the MISCHIEF and mindset of the reporter.Shivraj chauhan is the false name used by the SON of the passenger and his wife who had property dispute with him. The son should be punished exemplarily and also money recovered if he is a loaded person.Two circle net also should inquirre from its correspondent for this FALSE NEWS and why he did this false report?

Some one without giving his name saying that it is false journalism. Dear fortunately you have not faced such problem so you are telling. the accuser must be detained and if found wrong information then he must be punished so that otherone think before doing this type of activity. It is not something new to hear.This is the situation everywhere.The accusor should be heavily penalised.What compensation will the couple get for this kind of harrassment? This is another attempt to malign the Muslim Community.
Only such things make people discuss topics like, Indian First or Muslim first

It is unfortunate to see that when all the medias reported the telephone call came from out side; TCN reported "co-passenger Suresh Chavan told airline". I request TCN to please check and correct, if required. TCN to be a model for all similar websites.
Anyone can make anyone "terrorist"
Instead of "deplaning" just the couple, the airport security / airline authorities, should have "deplaned" both - passengers and the accuser to find the "truth".
Reading this incident, I am amazed ANY AIRLINE PASSENGER can ACCUSE any co-passenger, labeling them TERRORIST(s), and make him / her deplane, taking cover of "security fear" OR "comfort".
If such instances continue, airline industry and security authorities are in for a "big mess", from DISCRIMINATION CLAIMS and CONSEQUENT COMPENSATION(s).

This article is factually incorrect and seems to be of some malicious intent, as it suggests a non-Muslim passenger was let go without questions while a Muslim couple were detained. The truth is, the caller who accused the couple wasn't a flight passnger at all. The call came from outside and was made by a relative, probably own son, of the detained man. This type of false journalism is largely responsible for sowing unnecessary suspicions among peaceful people

From your posting / comment "Anonymous", it appears, the call made to airline OR airport security, originated NOT FROM INSIDE the aircraft, but by someone from "outside".
If your posting / comment is TRUE, then TCN's publicizing the event may amounts to "yellow journalism" OR "false publicity". In which case, as an ardent reader / commentator of TCN, the least I would expect is a "correction" from TCN editorial staff, or they need to clarify and prove "Anonymous" is incorrect.
If such instances continue, i.e. airline getting "FREE PUBLICITY", in the long run the "losses" will OUTWEIGH benefit(s). Airline concerned, also need to step-in, and clarify the facts.

His name is Khan. But for that he would now be at Dubai, his destination. This is yet another instance where a Muslim is paying for the deeds of some of his co-religionists. Now, it is the duty of the police to see that the man is treated well during interrogation and if found clean should be respectfully placed on another flight with due apologies.
