Muslim Law Board writes to PM on slow progress in Babri demolition case

By TCN News,

New Delhi: In a letter to Prime Minister of India, Dr Manmohan Singh, Maulana Sayed Nizamuddin, General Secretary of All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB), has demanded the Central Government put the criminal cases related to Babri Masjid demolition on fast track.

He also asked the government to add the clause of conspiracy to the case as Liberhan Commission has concluded that the demolition was a result of conspiracy and not mere an accident.

There are two cases regarding Babri demolition pending in Lukhnow and Raebareli courts. In the beginning when CBI filed a joint charge sheet in both the cases, it had included the charge of conspiracy in that. But when the case was separated and one was sent to Lukhnow court and another to Raebareli court, the article of conspiracy was removed from the both cases.

Maulana Nizamuddin expressed his concern over slow progress in the cases. “It is sorrowful that the case in Raebareli in which people like LK Advani, Murli Manohar Joshi, Uma Bharti, Vinay Katiyar are accused saw only some hearings while the case which is in Lukhnow court is still awaiting the hearing to take off,” he said in the letter.

He also urged the government to file fresh cases against those people who have been indicted by Justice Liberhan and were not named in any case, and the case should be handed over to CBI so that it will go through speedy investigation.

“The case regarding ownership of Babri Masjid is very important which is pending before the Lucknow Bench of Allahabad High Court. AIMPLB demands day-to-day hearing in this case because it has already got delayed,” the letter reads.
