AWMELA moves out to inform locals about legal status of Batla case

By Salman Sultan, TwoCircles.net,

Azamgarh: It was just a moment to pull trigger to gun down two Muslim youths (one of them a teenager) on 19th September 2008 in a flat (L-18) of Batla House, New Delhi but it has taken more than a year in framing charges for the accused held in jails of different states of our country. To add salt to the wound Police statement keeps on changing like shifting sands.

Earlier, it was Atif who was alleged to have fired at Inspector Mohan Chand Sharma but now the blame has been shifted to an alleged absconder Shahzad who in spite of heavily fortified Batla House locality gave slip to our efficient Police cordon. The legal battle is about to begin in Delhi, Ahmedabad and Jaipur with several FIRs against each accused. In Delhi Session Court, charges framed by the prosecution will be argued on 27, 28 and 29 of this month. The hapless families of those who lost lives and who are incarcerated, as a result of this seemingly fake encounter, find themselves helpless to defend in view of enormous expenditure involved. However, they must fight the legal battle at least for restoring their own reputation, the reputation of their district Azamgarh and the reputation of a whole community that was shamelessly maligned with unbridled malicious and downright repugnant media propaganda.

Association for Welfare, Medical, Educational and Legal Assistance, Azamgarh, which is working at a low profile for alleviating the sufferings of general mass, decided to apprise people in Azamgarh about the present state of affairs vis-à-vis Batla House tragedy. As honourable courts of our country are dispensing justice, witnessed in recent acquittals of Muslim clergies arrested in 2005, it is worthwhile to repose faith in judiciary and fight the legal battle with full preparation.

AWMELA delegation (Dr. Javed Akhtar, Dr. Fakhre Alam, Dr. Wahid Ali, Dr. Kamaluddin, Dr. Javed Ali Khan, Dr. Salman Sultan and Mr. Tareeq A. Khan) first went to inquire about the health of Mr. Ahsan Khan, who is on a protest hunger strike in the Civil Hospital, Azamgarh. Mr. Ahsan’s demands included enquiry into seemingly fake Batla House Encounter apart from release of enquiry report in the case of Hakim Tariq Qasmi and Khalid Mujahid, illegal occupation of a graveyard by Mr. Ram Ashrey (former minister), permission for religious sacrifice in Lohra, Azamgarh and transfer of S.O. Saraimeer.

Be educated and .......

Be educated with both Islamic and Modern, put your child in IAS and IPS, put them in courts and politics..

We need a planned steps for all 4 monsters of the society..1. IAS 2. IPS 3. Court 4. Politics..

And 5th Business not in employment....Forget Employment..

Again we are being enslaved by goverment. All power has shifted to private sectors 90% of business is happening there and government wants us to give some beg in the form of reservation.

We will take reservation, but focus more and more on all above 5 points..

If there is any organization to take and implement the same, it will be great service to true civilized nation.

And actually there is no need for any organization but each and every individual should start from now.. I have started, who else join me.

Indian..

Sponsor education to brilliant students

Good suggestion. We have to start from the grass root level. I always think why none of our organizations, who are boasting to protect Muslim interest, work to find out those poor but brilliant students who are being forced to discontinue higher education due to financial problems in their family or due to lack of proper guidance. I myself helped few of them convincing about the scholarship prgramms offered by government and many organizations.

Our community local bodies (Mahallu/Jamaat) are not bothered about this. Their main job is to register nikahs and arrange fund to run madrassas (religious classes) and pay the salary of musliyars.

If every Mahallu/Jamaat committee try to sponsor at least one brilliant student who have secured top marks in the school but whose parents do not have potential to support them to reach to the highest levels, we can make big change.

I am just working to list out all those organizations and government authorities who offer scholarships to the poor students and circulate among all the Mahallu Jamaats. Because of most of them are not even aware of these scholarship programs.

Please contact me if you have any suggestions.

Career Guidance

Brother Hamza,
Assalamualaikum,
Please dont expect Mohalla Jamaat to do all religious as well as Career Guidance activities..We should form a muslim graduates association in all the masjids and each member should be trained to conduct Career Guidance Programme, and should meet on a monthly basis guide the new generation in a organised manner.

Career Guidance

Dear brother,

Assalamualaikum,

Thanks for your response. I didn’t mean that Mahallu Jamaat to undertake Career Guidance. As they are the formal body of Muslim community in each locality (as seen in Kerala) they can take initiative to form such arrangements in each area. Such organizations will have more acceptability from the community. We have more than 10,000 Mahallu Jamaat in Kerala. If our community leaders realize the importance of this; It will be a revolution in the field of education. At least our community leaders should think about the need of such an arrangement. If they are not willing to organize then we have to take initiative individually. I can take initiative in my place; you can take up the matter in your place but who will take initiative in other localities; who will monitor or coordinate.

We can discuss. Since you didn’t leave your name or email I can’t contact you. Please contact me by email.
