I am shocked to read from yahoo news that "This year's list of Padma awardees includes a surrendered Kashmiri militant and counter-insurgent against whom cases of extortion and attempted murder are pending. The man, Ghulam Mohammed Mir, has been honoured with a Padma Shri for public service. He runs a band-saw business in his native Magam in central Kashmir's Budgam district, and is widely known by the nickname Muma Kana". I don't know how authentic this news is but I feel it would be a great mistake on GOI's part had there been any truth behind this news.

This is a good step for the first time that the 15 muslim personalities got Padma awards out of total 130.But there is no any muslims from Bihar has included in that list.Why it is so.There is civil servant like Dr M.A.Ibrahimi,Afzal Amanullah,Aamir Subhani,Doctors like Dr B.H.Khan,Dr S.A.Imam(N.M.C.H.),Dr A Q Siddiqui,social servant like Hazrat Nizamuddin,Maulana Sami Jafri,Journalist like Abdur Rafey,Md Marghoob.There is discrimination by the state government which prepared the list.

We are happy to know the share of Muslims in awards.It shows that Muslims are not only show peice in India. They have some knowledge and doing some thing in different field.Central and states governments must recruit for the due share of muslims to develop the country.If a part of India will be away from development then How a whole may be known as developed country.

Honouring 15 muslim personalities by Padma awards out of total 130 is quite a good step.But the real need of indian mulims is justified share in all recruitments and welfare schemes with minimum 15% physical and financial targets.
