Israel tops list of UN condemnations: German Mideast scholar
By IRNA,
Berlin : No country in the world has ever faced more condemnations in the United Nations for its actions than Israel, a prominent expert on the Middle East said here Monday evening.
Speaking at a panel discussion in Berlin on Israel's lethal raid on a Gaza aid convoy, Werner Ruf said, "No state has been condemned in the UN as much as Israel."
The Jewish state has always felt it stands above the law and can do whatever it wants without being penalized for it, he added.
Ruf urged the international community not to tolerate this "inhuman and illegal" behaviour of the Zionist regime.
Israel which claims to be a democracy in the Middle East has to understand that democracy means also
rule of law, the German scholar said.
He supported the latest stance of Turkey's Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan who accused Israel of "state terrorism" in the wake of the deadly attack on the Gaza Freedom Flotilla.
