Demand for Probe into Batla House Encounter grows louder

By TCN Staff Reporter,

New Delhi: It seems the series of protests and agitations on Batla House Encounter issue is not going to end soon. In yet another protest to demand the judicial enquiry into Batla House Encounter, hundreds of residents of Jamia Nagar staged a Dharna today at Batla House Chowk after Juma Prayers.

Local leader and organizer of the Dharna, Amanatullah Khan, while addressing the gathering demanded, a Judicial Probe into the case. He also demanded post mortem report of slain Inspector Mohan Chad Sharma to be made public, so the truth about his death can come out like Atif and Sajid. Joining him, Zafarul Islam Khan, who edits Milli Gazette, English fortnightly said, “It is a shame for a democratic country like India that, half of the encounters are fake.” He feared, “it seems we are heading towards a fascist state.”

Amiduzamaan Keranavi, General Secretary of All India Muslim Majlise Mushawarat (Salim Qasami group) while demanding the probe into case said, “After publication of post mortem reports of two of the boys killed in Batla House, it is crystal clear that- they were killed in cold blood”. “If govt. still thinks, the ‘encounter’ was genuine that it is reluctant to institute an enquiry”, he wondered.

Meanwhile, in an another move Coordination Committee of Indian Muslims (CCIM), a confederation of Muslim organization in a letter to Prime Minister of India, urged for institution of judicial probe under a sitting judge of the Supreme Court. The same letter has been also sent to Home Minister and Minister for Minority Affairs. The letter is signed by its convener, Mujtaba Farooq on behalf of Jamiat Ulema e Hind, Jamaate Islami Hind, All India Muslim Majlise Mushawarat, Muslim Political Council of India, Majlise Fikro Amal, All India Islahi Movement.
