Website of famous Daccani poet Sulaiman Khateeb launched

New Jersey, USA: A website featuring famous poet of Daccani language Sulaiman Khateeb was launched on Oct 3 in New Jersey. The website was officially launched by famous Urdu poet Nida Fazli.

Born on December 26, 1922 at Chitguppa in Bidar district of Karnataka, India, Sulaiman Khateeb is famous for his poems written in Daccani language. He was a regular feature on All India Radio and Doordarshan which also made him popular all over India.

His famous nazms includes “pahli tareekh” and “saas bahu.” His Compilation of poetry “kewre ka ban” was published in dakkani and hindi in 1975.

Sulaiman Khateeb died on October 22, 1978 and buried in Gulbarga, Karnataka. In Gulbarga, a street is named after this popular poet of Deccani.
