Car bomb kills eight in Russia

By IANS/RIA Novosti,

Moscow : At least eight people were killed and several injured Thursday when a car bomb exploded in a market in Russia's North Caucasus region, police said.

The blast occurred in the city of Vladikavkaz, capital of the republic of North Ossetia.

The market has seen two terrorist attacks in the past. In November 2008, a bus was blown up by a suicide bomber killing 12 people. In March 1999, an explosion killed over 50 people and left 300 injured.
