Muslim Majlis Working Committee meet in Azamgarh

Azamgarh: A meeting of working committee of Muslim Majlis U.P. and intellectuals of Azamgarh took place around today at Global Computer Academy, Nomani House, Azamgarh. Mr. Yusuf Habib (President), Mr. Badar Kazmi (Vice President), Parvez Parwaz (VP), Wasi Ahmad Advocate (Gen. Secy), Mr. Rashid Khan Alig (Org. Secy), Mr. Haroon Rashid (Secy), Mr. Faiyazul Islam (Organizer, Azamgarh), Shah Alam Sherwani (Sarai Meer), Mr. Feroz Ahmad (Mahuwara) and Mr. Feroze Talat (Jt. Secy) represented Muslim Majlis.

The meeting was convened to discuss “Muslim social and political issues and solution”. Mr. Rashid Khan conducted the proceedings and started with recitation of verses from Holy Quran

Mr. Badar Kazmi reminded the audience that all demands of Muslim community acceded by the government was actually raised by Late Dr. Abdul Jalil Faridi. He credited Muslim Majlis for zealously safeguarding its identity when all others got merged with bigger political parties. He also said that present thought of electoral reforms is the brain child of Dr. Faridi, who has laid emphasis on participation of political parties in elections with candidates name known only to election commission. This would have taken care of communal politics.

Mr. Faiz Ahmad Advocate said both start and finish for Muslim Majlis was Azamgarh. He said that respected Ulama are responsible for disunity and chaos in the community. When they (Ulama) can’t even pray together how can they try for unity? He said that earlier movement started at the grass root level and then moved up but now leadership precedes spread of movement to the lower level.

Others who spoke on the occasion included Mr. Tauseef Jamei, who said that our ideal is Prophet (pbuh) and we must follow his (pbuh) Seerat.
