Chennai : AIADMK chief J.Jayalalithaa Saturday urged the Election Commission to order police to provide security for V.Senthilnathan, the party’s candidate from the Aravakuruchi assembly constituency in the April 13 poll, alleging supporters of his DMK rival could target him.
“There are reports about supporters of DMK’s K.C.Palanisamy planning to kill Senthilnathan and they are moving around in Aravakuruchi. I urge the Election Commission to order the police to provide sufficient security to Senthilnathan,” Jayalalithaa said in a statement here.
Condemning the attacks on AIADMK members after the assembly elections, she charged the ruling party of unleashing the violence fearing an electoral defeat.
