Charges to be framed against 13 accused in 2008 Delhi blasts

New Delhi: While acquitting Salman Ahmad, one of the 14 accused in the serial Delhi blasts case, the Sessions Court on Saturday ordered framing of charges against rest of the 13 accused allegedly belonging to the Indian Mujahideen. The Additional Sessions Judge Santosh Snehi Mann found adequate evidences against the said 13 accused to put them on trial.

The 13 accused have been charged under various provisions of Indian Penal Code, relating to murder, waging war against the country and others, besides under sections of the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act and the Explosive Substances Act.

The court also issued production warrants against 11 accused who are at present in Sabarmati Jail in Ahmedabad for their appearance before it on February 21.

Five blasts rocked Delhi on September 13, 2008 in which 26 persons were killed and over 100 were injured.
