MAEF scholarship for meritorious minority girls

New Delhi: Maulana Azad Education Foundation, a central government body run by the Union Ministry of Minority Affairs, has invited applications for Maulana Azad National Scholarship 2011 for meritorious minority girls. The last date for sending filled-in forms is 31 August 2011.

MAEF is funded through a Corpus Fund which is kept intact / invested in Banks and only interest income therefrom is to be used for its schemes. Under the Maulana Azad National Scholarship, Rs. 12,000/- each (6,000/- in XI & 6,000/- in XII) is given to selected meritorious girl students.

Criteria for Maulana Azad National Scholarship 2011

The meritorious girl students should belong to National minorities (ie. Muslim, Sikh, Christian, Buddhist and Parsi) who have passed Class - X in 2011 with minimum qualifying marks of 55% and have taken regular admission in Class 11th and whose parent's annual total income is less than Rs. 1.00 lakh.

New MAEF Scholarship 2011 application forms, state wise quota, list of last year's Scholarship holders as well as further details terms & conditions are available on the MAEF website from which the MAEF Scholarship application form can be downloaded free of cost. The MAEF Scholarship application forms are also available free of cost in the office of the Foundation at New Delhi as well as with State Government. Photocopy of the forms can be used freely.

The application of MAEF Scholarship 2011 must be received in the office of the Foundation by 31st August, 2011.

Duly filled in application for MAEF Scholarship 2011 along with necessary enclosures should be sent directly by Post / Courier / Submitted in person to the following address:

Scholarship is strictly based on the marks obtained in 10th Class and the quota fixed for each state based on minority population. No recommendation from State / any other authority is required.

Scholarship amount is directly sent to the successful applicant by bank transfer / Cheque.

There is no fees / charges for either application form or for any other service in this regard. Nothing is to be paid to anyone.

No other scholarship or financial assistance is given by MAEF to students of any other class except as mentioned above.

The Maulana Azad Education Foundation has no branch or authorised offices / agency anywhere in India for this purpose.

I am very grateful to Maulana Azad foundation, for providing schlarship amount to th 5 rural girls. I am working as a social worker with rural girls. And these kind of initiative exploring the girls education by supporting themfinancially.
