Patna: More than a month after the gruesome killings by police, a victim family on 7th July gathered courage and filed a murder case against Araria SP Garima Mallik. Four persons including an infant and a pregnant woman were killed in the police firing of June 3 in Bhajanpur village of Forbesganj. But SP was not made accused in the three FIRs filed till yesterday by the victim families.
Mohd Farooque Ansari, father of Mukhtar Ansari (22 years), filed the case in the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate, Araria on Thursday. He made SP Garima Mallik main accused for the killing of his son. It was the fourth case by the victim families but in the last three cases the SP had managed to escape despite the fact she was present on the spot when the villagers were shot dead.
SP Mallik is seen in the video clip which showed a home guard jawan romping on the half-dead body of Mustafa Ansari (18 years), one of the four victims of the police firing.
Other officers made accused in the case include Forbesganj PS in-charge, Forbesganj SDO and BDO besides 100 unnamed policemen. Director of Auro Sundaram International Ashok Kumar Chaudhary, BJP MLC Ashok Agarwal’s son Saurabh Agarwal are also among the accused.
The case No 16/11-2011 has been filed under several sections of IPC including 147, 148, 149, 341, 342, 307 and 302.
