After remaining headless for years, Delhi Minority Commission gets its chairman

New Delhi: Safdar Hussain Khan, vice president of India Islamic Cultural Center, Senior General Manager, India Trade Promotion Organisation, has been nominated as the next chairman of the Delhi State Minority Commission, a post which was lying vacant for a long time.

According to a notification issued on 22nd March by the Governor House, Pushpender Singh and Michael Anthony have been nominated members of the commission.

Khan will take charge from tomorrow (March 24) after noon. Jubilant at the nomination, Khan said that the solution of grievances and problems of minorities would be on top of his priorities. He further said that a concrete road map would be prepared and implemented with seriousness.

Earlier, Khan held different posts in several organizations. He was executive director of National Center for Trade Information. Currently he was Senior General Manager
(Publicity, Culture, Security, Protocol, Design & Display Division), ITPO.

He has also served as president of AMU Old Boys Association, Delhi chapter.

His nomination has delighted many quarters of the Muslim community. Speaking on this occasion, Sirajuddin Qureshi, president, India Islamic Cultural Center, said that Khan would play a pivotal role for the welfare of the minority community.
