Rajasthan Muslim Forum unsatisfied with progress in Sawai Madhopur case

By TCN News,

Jaipur: The Rajasthan Muslim Forum, an umbrella body of state Muslim organizations, has expressed its dissatisfaction at the progress in the Sawai Madhopur police officer burning case as the DM and SP of Sawai Madhopur district have not yet been removed from there. The Forum feared they could influence the enquiry.

The Joint Action Committee of Rajasthan Muslim Forum held a meeting last month at Muslim Musafir Khana in the state capital. The meeting discussed law and order in the state and progress in Sawai Madhopur police officer burning case. The meeting was attended by family members of Phool Muhammad, the police officer who was burnt alive by a Meena community mob, and members of legal committee of the Forum constituted in this regard.

Chaired by Convenor of the Forum Qari Moinuddin, the meeting expressed dissatisfaction at the fact that Sawai Madhopur DM and SP are working on their post. “DM and SP are directly responsible for any incident in a district. So they should be immediately removed from the district so that they could not influence the enquiry in the case,” the Forum said in a statement.

The Forum also demanded the state Congress party government to fulfill its promise for a CBI probe in the case. The group warned that if the state government did not act, they will write to and even meet Congress president Sonia Gandhi and Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh.
