West Bengal’s ruling Left Front chairman Biman Bose praised the poll panel for the way it conducted the polls.

“The polling was more or less peaceful except a few small incidents,” Bose told reporters in Kolkata.

The state Congress unit also expressed happiness over the voting being conducted in a peaceful way.

“The vote was peaceful. We are very happy we are sure of good results,” said Manas Bhunia, state Congress president.

The Trinamool Congress expressed its confidence that it will win most of the seats among the 38 constituencies but expressed its annoyance over some sporadic incidents during the polls.

“As far as I know, there are still people standing in the queue. The polling was good but there were a few incidents which were not expected. This kind of incidents have not happened in the earlier phases,” said Partha Chatterjee, Trinamool Congress leader.
