Ahmedabad: The daylong conference of Students Islamic Organisation of India’s Gujarat Zone revolved around various issues related to education. The conference entitled “We the Students, We the Leaders” was organized in Juhapura area of Ahmedabad on 27th November 2011.
Lessons in Leadership, Excellence in Education, Discovering the Purpose of Education & Life and Evils of Imperialism were few of the many subjects taken up during the conference.
The conference was of the view that modern education system is only producing corporate slaves and knowledge workers. It is the faulty foundation of the Education System which is being witnessed in the forms of Corruption, Waning Social Order, Economic Inequality, Moral Turpitude and Violence.
Speakers motivated the students community to aim at excellence and utilise their skills for the cause of the Society.
Eminent speakers included Dr. Suresh Khairnar (Nagpur based Social Activist), S. Ameenul Hasan (Central Advisory Council Member, Jamaat-e-Islami Hind), PM Salih (Secretary General, SIO of India), Saiyed Arif Ali (Secretary, SIO of India), Mufti Rizwan Tarapuri (Ahmedabad based Islamic Educationist), Dr. Shakeel Ahmed (President, Jamaat-e-Islami, Gujarat), Mohd. Kaleem Ansari (President, SIO, Gujarat) and Saleha Malek (President, Girls Islamic Organisation, Gujarat).
