Hajj Camp to begin on September 25; first flight on 29th

Malappuram: The Hajj Camp for those going for the pilgrimage by the Kerala Hajj Committee will begin at the Karippur Hajj House on September 25. And the first flight will leave the state on 29th from the Karippur Airport.

The pilgrims should reach the Hajj Camp 18 hours before the beginning of their respective Hajj flights. The Hajj service will be carried out by the Saudi Airlines. The flights have been chartered till October 15. There will be no flights on October 14. The Saudi Airlines has reportedly published the schedule of flights. The first flight will take off at 10.45 am on September 29. There are a total of 27 Hajj flight services from Karippur, including two services on some days and three on a day.

While the flights taking off from Karippur will take the pilgrims to Madeena first, the return services are all from Jeddah to Karippur. The first return flight will reach Karippur on November 12 and the last on November 29.

Though the Hajj Camp will begin on September 25, pilgrims need reach the Camp from 28th onwards only. However, the activities of the Hajj Cell and various agencies will begin on 25th itself. Hajj flights from Karippur International Airport will carry pilgrims from Kerala, Lakshadweep and Mahe.

The state Hajj Committee met in the Hajj House and discussed the arrangements for the Hajj Camp and others yesterday. Around 8000 persons are going for the Hajj from Kerala this year, including those in the Central quota. More than 40,000 had applied this year.
