Maxim Media Pvt. Ltd., based in Mumbai has announced the launch of the magazine. According to the statement, “Muallim,” will be published in 4 colour format. It will contain features in Islamic theology and contemporary affairs in Muslim world.

Editor-in-Chief of Muallim, Maulana Ubaidur Rahaman Qasmi is a graduate of Darul Uloom Deoband and a member of Islamic Investment and Finance Board of India.

In a message to the readers of Muallim, Mohtamim of Darul Uloom Deoband, Hazrat Maulana Abul Qasim Nomani said, “The way of living revealed in Quran and Sunnah has no match, and is superior to all other ways sprung from the minds of the intellectuals. Muallim is an attempt to reassure Muslim families about this.”

Appreciating the concept, Hazrat Maulana Rabey Hasan Nadawi, President All Indian Muslim Personal Law board, said “The time is apt for Muallim to hit the market as there is dearth of such literature which focuses on Islamic upbringing and on contemporary issues.”

Speaking on the marketing strategy, Director Marketing, Z.F.Nomani said, “A strong marketing activity is devised to reach out to the audiences. Various mediums of communication such as digital (social media presence), below the line activity, outdoor and print, are considered and will be used.”

Badiuzzama Naeemrurahman, Director Legal, Accounts and Circulation, said, “Distribution will be through subscription and on newsstands at by and large Muslim population.”

Muallim will be regular from May 2012 onwards. The magazine is targeted at Muslims who are well versed with English. The print run of Muallim will be 3000 copies. It has a cover price of Rs 50.
