NASA to study climate change in Bangladesh

Dhaka : American space research institute NASA will conduct a study on the weather and climate change in Bangladesh.
"NASA will conduct the research under its South and Southeast Composition, Cloud, Climate Coupling Regional Study Programme," Hal Maring, chief scientist of NASA's Earth Science Division was quoted as saying by the Daily Star.
Maring discussed the programme at a meeting with Bangladesh's Environment and Forests Minister Hasan Mahmud.
The top NASA official said around 250 scientists will take part in the study through NASA's biggest aircraft next August-September.
"The findings of the research will help Bangladesh forecast weather warnings and conduct further research in agriculture," Maring said.
Mahmud said the research will help the region exchange weather and climate related information.
