Bareilly admin report: 27 shops looted, gutted but loss just Rs 10 lakhs

Lucknow: Bareilly city which reeled under rioting, arsoning and even lost four lives is limping back to normal. While some lost their sole bread earning member the establishments and shops of people too were torched.

The loss which should be in crores is officially only Rs 10 lakhs. As per district administration of Bareilly the recent riots resulted in loss of Rs 10 lakhs only by arsoning in various shops. The administration arrived at the figure after conducting a survey of burnt shops.

As per official figures available with Bareilly administration 27 shops were looted and gutted during the riots. The figures have far reaching consequences as state government will pay compensation in accordance with the total loss. The report will be submitted with the DM Bareilly who will forward it to state government for compensation.

The report which looks irrational was prepared by SDM Sadar Ravindra Kumar. Naib Tehsildar Bhojipura Vijay Yadav, Naib Tehsildar Rithaura Shivnarain Sharma, Naib Tehsildar, Chaubari, Digvijay Singh formed three teams and inspected the affected areas including Shahmatganj, Joginwada, Jagatpur, Siklapur, Gangapur, Gatta Factory and Eant Pajaya crossing besides two shops in CB Ganj. Videography was also done and statements of victims were also recorded.
