UAE, Australia discuss ties

Abu Dhabi : Officials of the UAE and Australia have held talks on boosting bilateral relations, especially in the nuclear energy sector.
The UAE's Assistant Foreign Minister for International Organizations Affairs Saeed Mohammed Al Shamsi met Australian ambassador to the country Pablo Kang Thursday and the two reviewed a number of topics of mutual interest and ways to enhance cooperation in nominations to the UN and its affiliated bodies.
They also reviewed the outcome of the recent visit of Australian Foreign Minister Bob Carr to the UAE during which the two countries signed a cooperation agreement for the peaceful use of nuclear energy.
