10 years on, criminals still free; victims still denied justice: CLMC

By TCN News,

Hyderabad: On the of completion of ten years of Gujarat genocide, Civil Liberties Monitoring Committee (CLMC) expressed its deep concern over “the mindset of Indian ruling class and condemn their sheer negligence towards their responsibility to protect secular and democratic values and to restore the rule of law in the Indian state of Gujarat. In fact the main political parties who are claiming as secular and democratic failed to liberate the Gujarat from the clutches of fascist Modi.”

“It is shameful for the country like India which is being called as the largest democracy and secular country that the perpetrators of this genocide are still free at large, in fact they have become the rulers and are sitting in the parliament and assembly, when the oppressed Muslims are still deprived of justice,” said Lateef Mohammad Khan, General Secretary, CLMC.

“The mass graves of the Muslims killed in the carnage are depicting the horror. The social boycott of Muslims are still continuing, they can’t return to there villages, they are forced to live in temporary relief camps as a result of this they have become refugees in their own land,” he further said.

“It is a fact that the perpetrators of Gujarat genocide is the Indian ruling class, and even after 10 years the perpetrators are free and the oppressed Muslims are being denied justice which means that Indian rulers are not serious about the justice for the Muslims, instead they are playing politics on the debris of the dead bodies of Muslims. On one side Narender Modi raise the vote by showing Muslims as terrorist, and on the other side congress want to get votes by showing dead bodies of Muslims,” he added.

“Civil Liberties believe that to save the country and restore the secular and democratic values, then parliament, judiciary and media have to execute their job honestly to uphold the standard of justice. And the demand of justice is that to first of all sack the Modi government in Gujarat, and to prosecute Narender Modi for the crimes against humanity and punish him as per the law,” Khan demanded.
