According to the confirmed and updated information Mumbai ATS had picked up Qamar Alam Sheikh, Abdul Wahab, Tanveer Alam and Mohd Ashraf, all of them belong to Bihar and are student of Swami Parmananda College of Engineering Mohali. Mumbai ATS Inspector Kedar Pawar who had arrested Qamar Alam Sheikh, Abdul Wahab, flown to Mumbai taking them in his custody. Tanveer Alam and Mohd Ashraf were released on January 3, 2012.

Police station ATS Bombay has registered FIR 33 /11 under sections 419,420,465,467, 120b of Indian Penal Code. Reportedly Abdul Wahab’s mobile number was allegedly found in some body’s phone in Mumbai through which police tracked him.

Abdul Wahab’s brother Intakhab told TwoCircles.net over phone that they haven’t received any information from the police in this regard. Whatever information they have is through Ashraf, Abdul Wahab’s room mate who was also detained.

This morning Aftab Alam, Abdul Wahab’s brother has reached Mumbai Crime Branch, enquiring about his brother but till now he hasn’t been able to locate his brother. The fact that police picked up Abdul Wahab, the youngest among seven siblings, without informing his family and they haven’t been able to get any information about Abdul Wahab’s whereabouts, has created a fear psychosis among people close to him. According to the Supreme Court guidelines on arresting, it’s mandatory for the police to inform the relatives of the person arrested, within 24 hours.

Abdul Wahab’s is the latest in the series of arrest of educated Muslim youths of Bihar in connection with terror cases. Since 22nd November 2011, the Delhi and Mumbai police have arrested 8 Bihar youths – some from the state and some outside – in the pursuit of the culprits of those terror blasts cases which have not yet been resolved.
