Obama to consult Indra Nooyi, two Indian-Americans

Washington : As part of his wider consultations on the economic crisis, President Barack Obama has invited three Indian-Americans, including PepsiCo CEO Indra Nooyi along with other business, labour, civic community and Congressional leaders.
Neera Tandon, president of the Centre for American Progress, a leading Washington think-tank, and Deepak Bhargava from the Centre for Community Change are the other two Indian-American invitees, according to a White House official.
The president this week will meet leaders from the business, labour, progressive and civic community, as well as Congressional leadership, to have discussion about the best ways to move the economy forward and find a balanced approach to reduce the deficit, he said.
While Tandon and Bhargava are included among labour and progressive leaders meeting Obama Tuesday, Nooyi figures among the invitees for the meeting with business community leaders Wednesday.
Other CEOS invited for the business leaders' meeting include David Cote of Honeywell, Mike Duke of Walmart, Jeff Immelt of General Electric, Andrew Liveris of Dow, Robert McDonald of Proctor & Gamble, Alan Mulally of Ford Ginni Rometty of IBM and John Watson, of Chevron, Mark Bertolini of Aetna and Ursula Burns of Xerox.
