New Delhi: Video-sharing website YouTube has blocked the anti-Islam film “Innocence of Muslims” in India. According to AFP news agency, the US-based search engine Google, which owns YouTube, did not say whether it acted on its own or was asked to remove the content by the Indian government. The 14-min trailer of the movie has sparked violent protests in various parts of the Muslim World while some protests were conducted in different cities of India.
“We do, at times, block content in response to a court order or other valid legal process. We have blocked access to the YouTube page in the Indian domain,” AFP has quoted an anonymous Google executive as saying.
