Agartala : The BSF has detained 30 Pakistani fishermen and seized their boats for illegally entering Indian waters off Kutch district in Gujarat and will take legal action against them, its chief said here Friday.
"We would take appropriate legal action against the 30 Pakistani fishermen illegally crossing the Indian maritime boundary," Border Security Force (BSF) Director General Subhash Joshi told reporters here.
"Our jawans (troopers) detained the 30 Pakistani fishermen Thursday after an operation carried out on specific information," he added.
The BSF troopers intercepted the Pakistani fishermen near Padala creek when they had entered the Indian waters.
The Pakistani nationals were brought to Koteshwar and subsequently handed over to Gujarat Police, said Joshi.
